BIMForum BxP Series Webinar: Coordination & Origins, Getting The Point Across The Team!

Critical Points for Teams to consider from Design to Construction and FM

This webinar in the BIM Execution Planning (BxP) Guide Series will address a common issue that has plagued all of us at one time or another…. Aligning models across design, construction, facility management and manufacturing content. This session will address best practices with commonly used applications. It will also highlight interoperability of the open standard IFC models. Relevant sections of the BIMForum LOD Specification's new content on grid systems will be discussed as well as the USIBD’s LOA re-equipment related to model origins. NISD’s CD-BIM Sample Origin Models will be used to illustrate project workflows. Finally, the session will discuss the role of documenting these origins in your BxP.

Learning Objectives:

  1. How do you define coordinate systems for BIM Projects in the BIM Execution Planning Guide?
  2. Why is communication of origin points so critical to collaboration?
  3. What are the best practices for working with origin points from design through construction to FM?
