Recap on the BIMForum Miami Meeting

Last week, BIMForum attendees met for what turned out to be BIMForum’s best meeting yet!  (One reason is that Solutionz provided Smartboards, polycom systems and high speed internet access, which enabled us to try out the latest in collaborative technology and access all handouts & conference information via the web.)

The activity that came out of the Closing Reports on Thursday says it all:

The ConsensusDOCS BIM Addendum (developed by the Legal Subforum) received the nod of approval from the overall BIMForum membership.

The Process Mapping Task Force is moving forward on developing a guideline for collaboration.

The Academic Subforum is working to create an Online Clearing House (OCH).

The Subcontractor Subforum was created, to address the demand from current members such as EMCOR.

A Product Information Modeling (PIM) Task Force was created to work with the Sweets/McGraw-Hill initiative.

If you missed this meeting, you probably don’t want to miss the next one in April!  (Exact Date & Location TBD)
