Mission:

Civil and Industrial Subforum

Mission:
To facilitate and accelerate the adoption of Virtual Design and Construction in civil, municipal, and industrial construction through fostering and developing the means to collaborate across all relevant sectors and jointly developing the best practices that will extract the greatest efficiencies out of this technology.

Constructors’ Subforum

Mission:
To create efficiencies in the project delivery process in the AEC industry by advancing the use of BIM tools and processes in the Construction Manger General Contractor community. The Constructor Subforum will educate this community by identifying, and portraying practical solutions that provide tangible benefits for the project and the project participants.

Designers’ Subforum

Mission:
To work in conjunction with the other subforums of the BIM Forum to promote the use and advance the development of BIM technologies that support both conventional design/construction practices along with evolving integrated project delivery relationships. To that end, the subforum not only focuses on tools and processes specifically related to the design team, but also helps define the relationships and digital deliverables most beneficial to the completion of their scope of the work from project participants represented by the peer subforums.

Emerging Leaders’ Subforum

Mission:
To network future leaders of the AEC profession that are actively involved and passionate about the use of virtual design and construction (VDC). Our aim is to gather, discuss, and postulate industry expectations of students, recent graduates and emerging leaders so that we can disseminate experiences & information to the greater industry, specifically including company and project leadership. In addition, the Emerging Leaders subforum will collaborate with the other groups in the BIMForum.

Technology Subforum

Mission:
To proactively support BIMForum activities in the areas of conference planning and content, educational curriculum contributions, as well as serve as a facilitator between the BIMForum and the wider BIM user community.  Ideas and discussions shared through the forum are intended to inform and influence the further developments of technology subforum members. Our mission is to educate the BIM Forum audience about the technology that is being developed to better serve their project and process requirements.
