Dallas BIMForum – Call for Presentations

By BIMForum on June 02, 2014

October 9-10, 2014 in Dallas, Texas

Theme: Optimizing Construction with BIM

At the April BIMForum conference, we discussed how implementation of building information modeling processes is optimizing project design. Now, at the October BIMForum conference in Dallas, we turn to optimizing construction. We are seeking individuals and integrated teams with intelligent, real world examples on how BIM is being used proactively, to have a measurable impact on the construction process.

Due to the increased number of conference attendees, the BIMForum will be implementing a tracked approach. Presentations should fit into one of the following tracks:

  • Designing for Construction Optimization: How are teams using BIM to consider construction optimization during the design phase? Presentations may include Target Value Design with BIM, Planning for Prefabrication, or Using BIM for Design Assist.
  • On the Job Site: Can BIM optimize jobsite activities, including safety, quality control, or logistics?
  • BIM for Campus Construction: Whether it’s an office park, college campus, or healthcare network, construction is more complex when it is in tight proximity to users. How can BIM optimize and facilitate this interaction?

The conference will also feature a track of presentations focused on general, but practical aspects of BIM management. Successful presentations will include practical strategy for one of the following topics:

  • BIM Execution Planning
  • Using the AIA/AGC LOD Specification
  • Collocation Management
  • Including BIM in Your Request for Proposal Process
  • Hiring the Right BIM Staff
  • Legal Considerations & Including BIM in Your Contract
  • What Does BIM mean for Insurance?
