Boston BIMForum – Call for Presentations

By BIMForum on October 31, 2013

April 23-24, 2014 in Boston, Massachusetts

Theme: Optimizing Design with BIM

Implementation of building information modeling processes in the design professions has steadily increased over the past 5 years as shown by the McGraw-Hill study “The Business Value of BIM in North America,” but are we truly improving the built environment and the process by which it is delivered?

In past BIMForum events, we have discussed ‘Return on Innovation Investment’ as well as bridging the gap between design and construction. This spring, we will return to design and engineering in order to showcase the best examples of collaboration, optimization, and sustainability. We are seeking individuals or teams with real world project examples to share their successes and challenges and address one or more of the following questions:

• How do you use BIM to develop and drive design?
• How are you determining project objectives and then measuring them through BIM?
• What’s ‘design assist’ and what is happening with IPD?
• How do you use BIM to keep clients engaged and make high-value decisions?
• What are the opportunities and challenges of an engineering-to-fabrication workflow?
• How much detail is really necessary in a design model to support downstream uses?
• How do standards and quality control affect an integrated team approach?

Submission Deadline: Wed Jan 15 2014, 5:00pm EST
